Due to intrinsic aging, after the age of 20, a person losses 1% of their facial collagen in the skin each year. Extrinsic aging occurs in addition to intrinsic aging as a result of sun and environmental damage (i.e. tobacco use and exposure to pollution). Extrinsic aging shows up as thickening of the cornified layer, precancerous changes such as lesions called actinic keratosis, freckle and sunspot formation, and exaggerated loss of collagen and elastin. Alone or in concert, these processes give the skin the appearance of roughness, uneven tone, brown patches, thin areas, and both fine and deep wrinkles. The goal of facial rejuvenation is to improve the skin’s appearance by evening out the tone, smoothing the skin (texture), decreasing sunspots, reducing redness, and decreasing both fine and deep wrinkles.

For evening out skin tone, the treatment of choice is intense pulsed light (IPL). We have both the Cutera Xeo and Cynosure Starlux  for doing IPL treatments. In fact, our signature IPL is the Limelight Laser Facial which uses the Cutera Limelight Handpiece to rejuvenate the skin with only 2-3 treatments.  Also, our Cutera Xeo Laser Genesis procedure has gained worldwide popularity for achieving brighter, more uniform skin without any downtime.

Both the versatile Cutera Xeo and the Cynosure Starlux are capable of performing a variety of treatments.  Besides IPL and Laser Genesis, these devices can also be used to perform 1540 Fractional Resurfacing, Laser Vein Treatments, Laser Hair Removal, and Facial Vein Treatments.

Limelight Photofacial (IPL)

This is one of our most popular and effective treatments to reduce the signs of aging.  After 2-3 treatments, you will notice a dramatic difference in your skin’s overall tone and texture, as well as reduced pigmented spots.  Cutera’s Limelight delivers a non-invasive light treatment that can be customized for different skin tones and aging conditions, resulting in an exceptional skin revitalization with minimal discomfort and no downtime. In addition to treating sunspots, benign pigmented lesions, and vascular problems in the skin, the Limelight Photofacial balances color and improves the overall complexion.

Laser Genesis

This highly popular, no-downtime laser genesis procedure for skin revitalization decreases redness and pigment spots while improving skin texture and building collagen.  The Cutera Laser Genesis stimulates the production of collagen and elastin by gently warming the skin with a pulsed laser, while specifically targeting fine structures of the dermis. As new collagen and elastin are generated, fine wrinkles, fine lines around lips, & broken blood vessels are dramatically reduced. The treatment effectively tightens, smooths and tones the skin, reduces pore size, improves acne scars and greatly reduces facial redness. This treatment can also be used to treat problems resulting from Rosacea, a common skin disorder which causes facial redness, flushing, dilated capillaries, and occasionally intermittent breakouts of acne.

Lux 1540 Fractional Facial Resurfacing

Cynosure Lux 1540 combines the potency of ablative lasers (which remove the top layer of the skin) with the safety of nonablative lasers (which deliver heat to a small fraction of the skin).  The Lux 1540 works by emitting thousands of tiny columns of energy to deeply penetrate the skin, causing micro injuries that stimulate the body’s natural healing response as well as collagen growth. It can be used on the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands. While you may need multiple treatments to see results, there is minimal redness or damage to the skin’s appearance immediately after the procedure, so it can be a good choice for those who need minimal recovery time.

Cynosure TempSure Envi

Cynosure’s TempSure Envi is a gentle radiofrequency treatment that minimizes facial fine lines and wrinkles, tightens skin, and improves the appearance of cellulite. This technology heats deep into the skin to regenerate collagen and reduce the appearance of forehead wrinkles, frown lines, crow’s feet, and smile lines.

Facial Telangiectasias and Facial Redness

Limelight Laser and Medical Spa has several lasers that can be used to safely treat facial telangiectasis (spider veins), facial redness (rosacea), and reddened scars. Laser therapy is minimally invasive and is generally the most effective treatment for facial telangiectasia and broken capillaries. It is often the treatment of choice for the face and neck but can be used to treat other parts of the body. Diffuse facial redness or any reddened scars can also be effectively treated with 2-3 laser treatments.

"Three For Me" Laser Treatments

As we age, we commonly feel our skin appears tired and not as vibrant as it once was.  This is due to aging, sun exposure, and genetics.  During a “Three for Me” treatment, two treatments are done back-to-back on the same visit: IPL and Cynosure 1540 Fractional facial resurfacing. This is a highly effective combination that corrects the three common skin concerns: fine wrinkles, sun damage, and facial veins/redness, all at once.
