Laser Tattoo Removal

PicoSure Picosecond Laser

We use the Cynosure PicoSure® laser device which is the gold standard for removing tattoos.

PicoSure tattoo removal uses a powerful picosecond laser that safely removes tattoos faster than Q-switched lasers. PicoSure enables PressureWave laser pulses, which break up the underlying tattoo ink into microscopic particles that the body can easily eliminate. In contrast, older nanosecond lasers work by burning the pigment and as a result, the surrounding skin can be damaged by photothermal effects. PicoSure laser tattoo removal works on all skin types and can not only remove even the most stubborn inks with fewer side effects, but faster and with less pain as well.

Tattoo Removal FAQs

Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work for All Tattoos?

Yes, we now have the technology to effectively remove all types of inks using different laser wavelengths.

How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?

Each pulse of the laser sends light energy into your skin. We use different wavelengths of laser light to treat different colors of ink in your tattoo. As the light energy is directed into your skin, it is selectively absorbed by the tattoo ink particles trapped in the dermis of your skin. As a result, these particles instantly shatter into tiny fragments.

Once the laser has broken the ink into smaller pieces, your body’s immune system works to remove the ink over the following weeks, flushing it away from the tattooed area. We see the result of this as the tattoo lightening in appearance. Each additional laser treatment breaks down more and more ink until the tattoo can no longer be seen.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

PicoSure can remove a tattoo with less sessions (and less pain) than other lasers. Typically, it takes 3-8 treatments to completely remove a tattoo.
